A beautiful botanical art calendar featuring new watercolour artwork created by Philippa Nikulinsky during 2020.
I designed this calendar in response to the many weeks Philippa spent in self-imposed isolation painting in her Perth studio early in 2020. Instead of my regular visits for coffee and a chat, Philippa and I would text throughout the day: she shared progress images of her wonderful work and I sent back photos of the kids.
Philippa painted these artworks from sketches and notes made during past visits to the bush. I felt so much joy seeing these paintings evolve, which made me consider how crucial art inside the home is to my wellbeing.
When you can’t get out and about, visit a gallery or exhibition – even roam around a botanical garden – you need small scenes of beauty and calm within your kitchen or home office. I invite you to journey through 2021 with bold banksias, elegant eucalyptus, a cheeky fairy wren and an intricate painting of small flora and fauna found in the Kwongan region.
The calendar is printed double sided to reduce waste, and is finished with white wire spiral binding and hook. It is compact in size, measuring 32cm high and 23 cm wide, with the artwork spread from edge to edge across the top half, and space within the boxes on the bottom half to write your appointments and birthdays. The week begins on Monday.
This calendar is perfect for lovers of Australian flora and fauna. It is a gorgeous Australian themed gift for overseas family and friends - slim and lightweight making it easy to post.
Printed on 100% recycled paper.
Made in Perth, Western Australia.
