A while back I switched the paper I print studio Nikulinsky cards on, to a 100% recycled paper stock (they're still printed in Western Australia with vegetable based inks). I completely over-thought this change, I imagined people would stop stocking the cards and the product wouldn't be as good. I delayed swapping papers, I sweated and agonised over the decision, talking over and over with my eternally-patient husband. ♻
The change to recycled paper was inevitable, however. I really should have done it from the start! Anyway. I made the change (wearing my big businesswoman pants) and, surprise, all my anxieties were totally wrong. I received multiple emails commending me on the change, which felt really good. The product is actually 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 aesthetically and environmentally.
This experience has given me confidence to believe that when you create a business and have an environmentally friendly ethos, and really keep working at it, you can't go wrong. Love to know your thoughts on this topic - please leave a comment below!
