Every order plants a tree!

Every order plants a tree!

I'm very pleased to announce that from 1 January 2021, studio Nikulinsky has committed to purchase a native tree for every order placed.

Certificate Carbon Neutral Tree Planting

There are many reasons why I felt this was a positive action to take.

As we know trees help restore Australian biodiverse habitat, & contribute to expanding a natural carbon sink. Also, because trees are awesome: they create habitats for birds, insects & animals - remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere - enhance air quality, & improve the soil, water & ecological condition of an area! Amazing.

Each order will purchase a tree - it could be a eucalyptus, acacia, banksia, or possibly melaleuca. After the first rain of winter, the Plant-a-Tree program plants within degraded farmland in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor. It is a 200km corridor located in the northern wheatbelt region of Southwest Australia (a biodiversity hotspot).

I am so excited about this new era for my business. Creating products that use paper - even though it is recycled - it seems only natural to find a way to return trees to our environment.

This is a cheering idea Angela provided that provisions are made for the on-going care and monitoring of the species planted.
I hope the species selected will be those suited to the habitat they are now recreating and for the climate expected in their lifetime.
As a long term Landcare volunteer the most positive outcomes result when community members are involved with the plantings on land that is close to their homes. They may suggest or be advised about species, share the planting, watering and care with their families. Even more important is the involvement of Indigenous people in restoring lands for which they were once stewards and custodians.
